Thrust onto the international scene after having won First Prize in the Chopin Competition in 2010, Yulianna Avdeeva makes her Montréal debut in Capriccio for Piano and Orchestra by Stravinsky, a neoclassical work dating from 1929. Presented as part of the Montreal Bach Festival under the direction of Kent Nagano, the concert presents a new reading of Mahler from the pages of Bach and Symphony no. 10 by Shostakovich, one of his best known works.
