Meet the artists: October 2th
Led by Artistic Director KAREN KAIN, one of the most gifted classical dancers of her era, THE NATIONAL BALLET OF CANADA boasts a roster of 72 dancers and a repertoire that includes works by the world’s most celebrated artists. In their second appearance with Danse Danse, the National Ballet will present a modern triple bill by three world renowned choreographers. The evening will begin with the second detail by William Forsythe, an anarchic writhy comedy set to the rhythmic music of Thom Willems. Next is Spectre de la Rose, a thematic re-imagining of Michel Fokine’s 1911 landmark ballet of the same name, by German choreographer Marco Goecke. The evening will conclude with Chroma, a luminous exploration that redefines the future of modern dance, by the brilliant British choreographer Wayne McGregor. See these three unique works in one thrilling evening!
