A magnificent 18th century Requiem, ranked among the ten most beautiful ever composed, and yet only now being premiered in Canada by the Chœur classique de Montréal.
It’s as if Mozart and Verdi had crossed space and time to express the Russian soul in a grand and moving mass for the dead!
Five outstanding Russian soloists, visiting from Moscow for the occasion, bring all their sensitivity to this presentation of the work of Russian-Polish composer Osip Kozlovsky, well known during his lifetime in Russia for having composed the imperial anthem, but fallen into obscurity for some decades.
This exceptional evening will mark the 30th season of the Chœur classique de Montréal and its 10th concert at the Maison symphonique!
