Maslenitsa has been celebrated in Russia for centuries. It is both a folk festival celebrating the start of winter, and an Orthodox celebration announcing the start of Lent. The delicious golden pancakes made from eggs, flour and milk are the pagan symbol of the sun. After three warmly welcomed editions, the Canadian Foundation for Russian Culture is pleased to once again present its Winter Carnival. Born of the desire to promote traditions and develop cultural exchanges with Russian-speaking and non-Russian-speaking Canadians, the Foundation promotes Russian culture through exhibitions, concerts, conferences, as well as traditional celebrations.

Tickets are on sale on the Foundation’s website www.culturerusse.ca or at the entrance to the Carnival.

Tickets: $ 10 – adult, $ 7 – child 3 years +, $ 25 – family (2 adults and 1 child).

Free entrance for young students of Russian School Gramota. We are looking forward to see you!
